since my days in France or in Europe are soon going to end within a few months, i’ve decided to make a list of the places that i would like to visit here in France, and in Europe, if still possible.
i have included in my list some of the nearby places like Lourdes and Albi. the latter, we have already visited a couple of weeks ago to see the Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec museum and the cathedral just beside.
the museum was worth visiting because it contains a vast collection of his famous works, which were mostly donated by the Countess Adèle de Toulouse-Lautrec, the artist’s mother. and the garden outside, with the view of the Tarn river is just beautiful even with the bleak wintry landscape. i should try to go back in the spring, and with a real camera.
finally, i would also like to include all the places in France (and some of the others in nearby European countries) that Jose Rizal has visited. i’ve been doing a lot of research today and reading about the places he visited and lived in during his time in this continent.
i was quite surprised to find out that i have already visited some of the places that he had been to. first off, he was on board a ship that took him to Singapore from Manila, and from Singapore to the port of Marseille here in France. and then from Marseille, he took a train to cross the Pyrénées and to visit Barcelona, the capital of Catalunya. it was quite interesting to know this fact since i myself came from Singapore on the way to France.
and that he enjoyed walking along La Rambla, Barcelona much like i did.
it’s also interesting to stumble upon a place called Place Jose Rizal in Paris during my web search. i will make a point to visit this on my upcoming trip to Paris. Coincidentally, it was his death anniversary just a few weeks ago.
